Membership Frequently Asked Questions

I do not know a current member of AALAS, can I still join?

Yes, you can still join by writing “need help with this” in the Application Verification blank and sending the application to the AALAS office with payment.

When it is received your information will be sent to an AALAS representative who will then contact you to assist in verifying your membership.

I forgot my username and password. How can I retrieve them?

To retrieve your username and password, click on the "forgot info" button directly below the Member Login on the AALAS page. This information will be sent to the email address you have on file at the AALAS office.

I created an account online? Why am I not a member?

Creating an account does not automatically make you a member. Creating an account allows you access to certain parts of the website and gives you an account to make purchases.

How do I renew online?

If you are an individual member and are due for renewal, when you log in to the website you will automatically be prompted to renew. This prompt is only available three months prior to your expiration date and one month after it expires.   Institutional, Commercial, Affiliate, and Global Partner renewals are not available online.

How can I upgrade my membership?

To upgrade your membership, please email AALAS at info@aalas.org indicating what membership level you want to upgrade to. We'll confirm the additional cost and make the change accordingly.

How many complimentary memberships come with the Institutional/Commercial memberships?

Each Institutional membership comes with 4 complimentary memberships: 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze. Each Commercial membership comes with 3 complimentary memberships: 1 gold and 2 silver. The gold member for each will be the AALAS membership contact person. This person is responsible for letting the AALAS office know of all changes to the member roster (i.e., additions/deletions, contact info).

Why was I dropped from my Institutional roster before the membership expired?

Each Institutional or Commercial member has the right to add/drop any individual from their roster without notice to the member.
