WEB-061A: Rabbits are commonly used animal models in biomedical research. In the surgical setting, they are frequently used for orthopedic, cardiovascular, and biomaterial studies. However, rabbits can be challenging surgical patients with regards to anesthesia and postoperative care. This webinar aims to educate on all stages of rabbit surgical procedures from the preoperative evaluation to postoperative recovery. Appropriate provision of anesthesia and analgesia will be discussed as well as practical tips for surgical preparation, anesthetic monitoring, and management of postoperative complications within the limitations of the study. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions in advance about the challenges they face when managing rabbit surgical procedures. The 1.5 hour time frame will allow for plenty of time to submit your questions, thus giving you a more personalized training experience.
