WEB-053A: Environmental enrichment is a must for animals involved in research, but the provision of enrichment varies widely as does the definition of what constitutes environmental enrichment. This webinar focuses on meeting species specific needs of agricultural animals and further enriching their environment. Agriculture animals in research range from poultry to horses to pigs to ruminants. We cannot take a one-size-fits-all approach with them. We can, however, creatively use readily available resources to encourage normal species behaviors, decrease the occurrence of stereotypies, facilitate animal training, increase cooperation of animals in study procedures, and promote workplace safety.
