Diversion Control in the Laboratory Animal Research Environment
July 22, 2020
12:00 PM - 1:30 PM CT

WEB:064: You get a call that a rep from the DEA regional office is here and would like to inspect your controlled substances. What do you do? While most of us are accustomed to hosting visits by the USDA, AAALAC research sponsors and sometimes even members of the public, why does a potential visit by the DEA cause us so much trepidation? This and other questions will be explored during this one hour webinar that will include a review of the history of diversion control, the unique challenges faced by those supporting animal research in varying sectors (academia, CRO, large pharma), the more common issues identified among veterinary practitioners, and suggestions for ways to ensure your program meets the requirements of the Controlled Substances Act.

The fee is per connection: One connection can be used for site or group training. If multiple connections are needed, please place and order per connection. Discounts are available by using the Store Order Form PDF when you purchase 5 or more connections. Within 1 to 3 business days after ordering the webinar, you will be sent an email with a link to register and view the webinar on the GoToWebinar website.

Can't watch it live? Share the presentation recording afterward with your staff. AALAS will provide the link to view the webinar recording to all registrants several days after the live webinar concludes. This link can be shared with your staff for watching at any frequency, any time of the day.

Audience: Animal care program directors, veterinarians, IACUC members, IACUC staff, researchers, and facility managers/supervisors.
