WEB-077: This presentation is a continuation of managing problem behaviors in nonhuman primates and will begin with a short review of the content from part 1. To build upon that information, observational methods and ethograms for problem behaviors will be presented, as will examples of documentation systems.  Examples of thresholds for when interventions are begun by behavior or veterinary team members will be provided. We will discuss the value of attempting to predict future behavioral problems, and working to prevent them from occurring. Exemplars of behavioral problems will be presented to walk participants through hypothetical cases and treatment regimens for individual rhesus macaques. Treatment options will be presented which will include but are not limited to: enrichment, social housing, animal training, operational changes, and medications.
